The Love Tree

@Secret Location on San Juan Island
Sometimes you stumble upon love, sometimes it's hard to find and for this Valentine's Season we challenge you to the find "The Love Tree" located somewhere in the Heart of SJI. Once found, locate the waterproof container underneath where upon opening you will find a "Love" journal and a pencil. We would like you to write a passage in the book sharing a story about how you met your partner, your favorite poem about love, or anything that is loving in general that feels appropriate for the next people to find the treasure. While you are at it, take a selfie in front of this modestly decorated tree and share it with us on Instagram, Facebook, or via email. Upon sharing it with San Juan Island Roasters, rumor has it they will actually give you a fine chocolate for whomever is in the picture so make sure you do it with a loved one (romantic or platonic). Farmer's Market

There is nothing like a Farmer's Market in Friday Harbor with all the local vendors selling their crafts to the most delicious food, wine and baked goods you will ever taste. Come cruise around Brickworks to enjoy the friendly local atmosphere with beautiful music filling the barn with all the carefree joy a Saturday morning can bring.

WHERE TO SLEEP

If you'd prefer to stay right in town, we suggest The Friday Harbor Suites, the best all-in-one hotel on the island located a short walk from all the action down-town. After a long day enjoying the island, The Trumpeter Inn and the Friday Harbor Suites are the perfect places to put your feet up and enjoy some hot cocoa and a great night's sleep!
WHAT TO EAT
San Juan Island is home to a variety of fantastic local restaurants and cafes, serving up delicious meals all year long. For a great breakfast or lunch, head to Salty Fox Coffee, conveniently located right across from the Friday Harbor ferry landing – and don’t miss their Pesto Rice Bowl! If you’re craving locally roasted coffee, take a stroll down to Friday Harbor Roasters on the pier. While you’re there, grab a bag of island-roasted coffee to enjoy at home. For a sit-down meal, make your way to the Greenside Grill at the SJI Golf Club for a tasty breakfast or lunch – we highly recommend their amazing burger. Here’s to enjoying great food all season long!
